How to Measure Your Feet Correctly Before Buying Shoes
Choosing the right shoe size is essential for comfort, foot health, and a satisfying – and ideally non-returnable – shopping experience. To help you find the perfect fit, we have prepared a short and simple guide that will walk you through how to properly measure your foot and what to consider when selecting a model.
Measuring foot length
1. Prepare a clean sheet of paper, a pencil, and a ruler or measuring tape.
2. Stand barefoot on the paper, with your heel touching the wall so that your entire foot rests naturally on the surface.
3. Trace the outline of your foot, keeping the pencil vertical – it’s best if someone assists you to ensure accuracy.
4. Measure the distance from the end of your heel to the tip of your longest toe – this is your foot length.
5. Repeat the measurement for the other foot. Always use the longer foot as the basis for selecting your shoe size.
Shoe width – what does it mean?
Shoe width refers to the internal width and volume of the shoe, which plays a crucial role in overall comfort – especially during extended wear.
Most of the models in our store are offered in a standard width (marked as G) – suitable for people with average-width feet.
Important:
Incorrect shoe width can cause pressure, blisters, and even permanent foot deformities – which is why it’s important to know the circumference of your midfoot and choose footwear that matches your individual foot shape.
Why is this so important?
Not all shoes in the same size will fit the same. Differences in: width (shoe volume), toe shape, materials, upper construction can significantly affect how the shoes feel on your feet. It’s worth considering these factors before adding a product to your cart.
Types of toe shapes – what to look out for
- Pointed toe – stylish but may squeeze the toes. We recommend choosing a larger size or a wider model.
- Rounded toe – the most universal and comfortable, suitable for most foot shapes.
- Square toe – offers more space for the toes, recommended for wider feet.
Important tips before purchasing
- Measure your feet in the evening, when they may be slightly swollen – this gives the most accurate result.
- If you use orthopedic insoles, factor in their thickness when choosing your size.
- If you are between sizes, go for the larger one and adjust the fit with an insole if needed.
Remember:
A properly fitted shoe means daily comfort, healthy feet, and no need for returns. If you’re unsure – use our size chart or contact us for assistance.
