Shoecare

Beauty lies in the details, and proper care is the key to their durability.

Good shoes are an investment – properly cared for, they can last for years.

Learn a few simple rules of care:

  1. Regular shoeshining

After each use, it is a good idea to remove dust and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid aggressive detergents that can damage the leather.

  1. Leather protection

Natural leather requires moisture – use specialist creams or balms to prevent it from drying out and cracking. For suede and nubuck, use dedicated sprays and brushes.

  1. Impregnation

To protect your shoes from moisture and dirt, regularly use a waterproofing agent that is suitable for the type of material your shoes are made of. For shoes made of smooth leather, you can use a waterproofing agent in the form of a liquid, cream, paste, foam or wax, while for shoes made of suede and velour – a spray/aerosol.

  1. Correct storage

Store your shoes in a well-ventilated place, preferably in their original box or cotton bag. Stuffing the inside of the shoes with shoe trees or soft paper will help them maintain their shape.

  1. Avoiding excessive moisture

If your shoes get wet, dry them at room temperature, away from heat sources such as radiators or dryers.

Principles of care for individual materials

TOP – MAINTENANCE METHOD

Smooth leather (grain leather) – Clean with a damp cloth or brush. After drying, use pastes or creams, preferably in the shade of the top leather. Use colored creams and pastes matched to the top color. For leathers with a shading effect, use colorless creams and pastes. The final stage is polishing with a soft cloth.

Nubuck, velour – Do not use pastes or creams. Remove dirt with a special brush. Use special products for this type of leather, dyeing to revive the color and impregnating.

Lacquered leather – We do not use any impregnation, as this could reduce the gloss and smoothness. We use special preparations for lacquered leather.

Synthetic leather – Clean with a damp cloth. You can use products for synthetic leather.

Textile materials – Clean with a damp cloth. In case of heavy dirt, we can use a mild cleaning agent, e.g. soap.
